Ada

Hello! My name is Ada. I am in my 12th year of Guiding as a 2nd year Ranger. I am so excited to be joining the ANY Youth Forum this year and look forward to meeting new people and helping out in our ANY Guiding community. Guiding has given me many great opportunities to grow, helping me improve my leadership skills, teaching me how to support younger girls and giving me plenty of campfire songs that I've tucked away, but am always willing to share.

Outside of Girl Guides I work as a swim instructor and am in grade 11. I love working with others and telling terrible dad jokes. I am an artsy girl with a love of drawing, painting and making crafts. I can’t wait to make some awesome new memories!

Emily

ANY Youth Forum Emily

Hi, I’m Emily! This is my eleventh year in Guiding and my second year in Rangers. I have been in Guiding since I was a wee little Spark! I am very excited to be on the ANY Council Youth Forum again this year! Guiding has given me so many amazing opportunities throughout my life and I love the connections I get to build with other people who share the same love of Guiding as me. My favourite memories I made last year were going on an independent maritimes trip with my unit and getting to attend CROCUS 2023! I’m so excited for Guiding and another year of making amazing memories!

Outside of Guiding, you can find me reading, writing, and taking pictures on my camera. You can also catch me listening to Taylor Swift as I am a Huge Swiftie!

Kelsey - Coordinator, ANY Council Youth Forum

Hey there! I am Kelsey, and I am a Coordinator for the ANY Council Youth Forum. I was a youth member in Guiding for eight years in the Peace River Area and am now in my second year as a Unit Guider in the Edmonton Area, and as the ANY Council Lones Lead. Guiding has been a big part of my life, helping me to gain skills, confidence and determine my values.

I came onboard to coordinate the Youth Forum because I believe it is crucial for the youth to contribute to shaping the Guiding experience. The Forum is also a valuable opportunity for youth use their voices, lean into their interests and gain skills that will serve them in their future careers.

This group is an amazing way to network with peers in other areas of Alberta, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Feel free to reach out for information on getting involved! any-youth2@girlguides.ca

Lucy

Hi! I am Lucy and I am a second year Ranger. I have been guiding for 11 years, have made many great memories and had access to wonderful opportunities. Since Sparks, I have been given the chance to make new friends, build skills and voice my opinion. I am super excited to join the ANY Council Youth Forum and meet new people. My favourite moments in guiding have been joining an Ember group as a Junior Leader and going on an international trip.

Outside of Guiding I love reading, playing violin and volunteering at my local zoo.

Nora

Hello and bonjour! My name is Nora, and this is my first year on the ANY Council Youth Forum. I live in beautiful (and notoriously windy) Lethbridge, Alberta. I am in my second year of Rangers and have been in guiding since Embers, including one year in Australia! I am also in my third year as a Junior Leader for a combined Sparks and Embers group. In the summer of 2024, I was fortunate to travel to England with other Rangers from Southern Alberta. Epic.

I love Girl Guides more than words can express, and my family often tells me that I seem to glow from within after every meeting and event I attend. To me, Guiding is so special because of the opportunities it brings and the friendships I make. When I started Guides, I never would have imagined signing along to Mamma Mia! in London’s West End with Girl Guides from all around the world. I am so excited to see what is in store for my next chapters in Guiding

Outside of guiding, I am a French Immersion student in Grade 11. I take my academic success very seriously, and I am a member of my school’s National Honour Society. Apart from schoolwork, I am the president of my school’s Earth Club, and a member of Crochet Club and Ethics Bowl. I am in my second year on the Lethbridge High School iGEM team, where me and my teammates use synthetic biology to help solve current local and global issues.

I have two sisters and a brother. As a family, we enjoy camping in the Badlands and the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and travelling to our cottage in Ontario every summer. My other hobbies include painting, scrapbooking, walking my dog Clover, listening to podcasts, reading and dancing to Taylor Swift with my siblings.
