Art Gallery of Alberta
Children under 18 are always free, but only $10 for adult Guiding members (usual cost is $14).

Edmonton Valley Zoo
10% discount, plus free admission for adults of the required supervising ratio. Required ratio is: 1:3 for preschool, 1:5 for K-Grade 6, 1:10 for Grade 7-12. Adults beyond the required ratio are subject to 10% discount rather than free admission.

Group tours at the Reuse Centre in Edmonton to learn about their contributions to sustainability.

Waste/Compost Presentations
Edmonton Waste Services offers free presentations for units to learn about reducing waste and composting. They can visit a unit’s meeting location (within City limits) or at Compost School (beside John Janzen Nature Centre). Best suited for Guides and up. Minimum persons: 10.
To book: Make a post on their Facebook page: “Waste Less: Edmonton’s Waste Reduction Discussion”. Ask if there are any Master Composter Recyclers interested in doing a presentation for your unit. Include the desired location, date/time, and number of persons.
U of A Observatory
Offers free field trip programs at the University of Alberta Astronomical Observatory hosted by an astronomer to learn about space and look through their telescopes. Best suited for Guides and up.

Breathe Outdoors
10% discount on high-quality outdoor gear and equipment from an Alberta-owned and operated business for in-store purchases.

Community Cats Edmonton (CCE)
Free guest speaker presentations about this local volunteer initiative that helps unowned cats in Edmonton.
CCE requests that we do not book presentations from April 2023 onward, and wait for them to re-start these in fall 2023 (likely November). Stay tuned for an updated schedule at that time!
To book: Contact communitycatsedmonton@gmail.com with your preferred date/time/location, number of girls, age range of your unit, and if you would like a chance for kittens to join your meeting (i.e. allergy limitations). While these presentations are free, CCE would greatly appreciate a donation if units are able!
Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society
Free local animal shelter tours in Edmonton at their North Haven location.
To book: Contact northhaven@albertaanimalrescuecrew.com with your preferred date/time, number of girls, and age range of your unit.
Choose between two options:
- Option 1: group tour (approx. 45-60 mins). Good for units of any branch and any size.
- Option 2: volunteer service plus group tour (approx. 4 hours). Good for units ages 10 and up with 20 or less people. Units may assist with tasks such as creating enrichment toys and sorting donations.
Strathcona County Museum and Archives
Museum about local community and culture in Sherwood Park.
To book: Contact lauren@strathma.ca with your preferred date/time, number of girls, and age range of your unit.
Choose between three options:
- Option 1: group tour and craft/activities on a weekday evening (outside of their regular hours). $200 flat rate. Takes approximately 2 hours.
- Option 2: group tour and craft/activities on a Saturday (during regular hours). $100 flat rate. Takes approximately 2 hours.
- Option 3: drop in during regular hours. Free admission. If given advance notice, the Museum may set aside self-led activities such as scavenger hunt cards and colouring pages.
The museum also has vintage GGC materials (books, uniforms) in their archives should members be interested in setting up an appointment to browse!
Vertically Inclined Rock Gym
15% off cost of rock climbing for 5 persons or more during these time slots:
- Fridays 6 - 8 p.m. and 8 - 10 p.m.
- Saturdays 4 - 6 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.
- Sundays 4 - 6 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.
