From May 22–24, 2026, youth ages 16–19 from across Canada will gather in Toronto for Career Compass – a national event designed to give you the skills, mentorship and confidence to take charge of your future. Whether you're thinking about university, college, starting a career or still figuring it out – Career Compass is for you.
Why you should come:
- Build practical skills – from building resumes to standing out in interviews
- Explore your future – post-secondary, career options and emerging fields

- Your adventure, your way – workshops, interactive sessions and activities designed by youth, for youth, based on what Girl Guides like you say they need most
- Celebrate your success – wrap it all up at a special gala evening
What you’ll do:
We’re still finalizing the full schedule, but here’s a sneak peek at what to expect:
- Friday, May 22 – Arrival, get-to-know-you activities, determine-your-interests surveys, off-campus excursion options
- Saturday, May 23 – Breakfast, keynote speakers, workshops, panels, visiting the exhibition hall and the celebration Guiding Gala
- Sunday, May 24 – Breakfast, morning sessions, closing session, departures
Youth within driving distance of York University can join at a reduced cost for the day on Saturday!
Costs and subsidies:
- Full weekend: $250 – includes two nights on campus, meals, snacks, all sessions and gala
- Saturday-only pass: $35 for youth within driving distance (does not include the gala celebration)
- Subsidies available in every province! Cover part of your fee or travel costs. Amounts vary by council – contact CareerCompass@girlguides.ca for details.

Who can apply to attend Career Compass?
Any member ages 16-19 can apply – whether you’re in Rangers, Trex, Link or a bridging member.
What’s included in the event cost?
Full weekend registration – $250
- Two nights in an on-campus residence (Friday and Saturday)
- Ground transportation to and from airport (if needed)
- Meals on Saturday and Sunday
- Snacks all weekend
- All conference sessions
- A fun gala evening
- Friday evening optional activities
You can pay in installments through your trip unit, which gives you time to fundraise. You’ll only need to cover about $110 of the registration fee yourself
Travel costs are extra, but don’t worry – all provinces have subsidies to help cover these expenses. Your Trip Unit Guiders will explain how payments work and what your total costs will be.
