Today’s youth face big questions, endless options and growing pressure about what comes next. That’s why Girl Guides of Canada created Career Compass – a national career confidence event and program designed to help girls and youth feel supported as they explore future pathways and build leadership skills. Career Compass makes career readiness practical, engaging and fun through accessible, youth-driven programming.
With inaugural funding from The Barrett Family Foundation, Career Compass offers three ways to participate: interactive webinars, in-unit activities and a weekend event for youth at York University in May 2026.
Every participant receives a Career Compass crest as a tangible recognition of your involvement. No matter where you live, you can explore what’s possible and step confidently into your future.

In-unit activities (all ages)
Career Compass Digital Programming brings future-ready skills for all ages. Check out these activities that you can try with your unit or on your own to explore career options, build confidence, and earn a free crest.
Webinars (Pathfinders and Rangers, ages 14+)
Join interactive webinars led by career educators and experts. Each session is packed with practical tips to help you feel prepared for what’s next, from exploring career pathways to building resumes and interview skills. Take the guesswork out of planning your future and gain confidence to step forward. Bonus – you’ll earn your Career Compass crest.
January: Packing Your Career Backpack
Get ready for the journey ahead! In this session, you’ll learn how to identify your strengths, set goals and gather the tools you need for success. Join Megan Van Massenhoven, a career educator and facilitator who supports young people in discovering what they’re great at and where they want to go. You’ll walk away with clear, practical next steps so you can start exploring your interests with confidence.

When will we receive our free crests for participating in the webinar or in-unit activity?
Crests will be sent out in early May to participating members. At the end of the webinar and in the in-unit activity you will find a link to the form.
