Frequently asked questions


Who can attend Career Compass?

All members must be registered for the 2026-2027 Guiding year.

Pathfinders, Rangers and bridging members (ages 14+)

  • Pathfinders must be 14 years of age or older by May 21, 2027, to attend
  • You’ll be added to a Patrol unit and travel to Career Compass together

Adult members

  • Apply to attend as a Patrol Guider, leading a Patrol unit
  • Responsible for supervision of their Patrol unit and general support at the event

What is a Patrol unit?

A Patrol is a group of Guiding members formed specifically to attend and participate in Career Compass. Members may come from different units, who’ll travel to Career Compass together as a group.

Each Patrol is led by Patrol Guiders. Patrol members will communicate and meet up (in person or virtually) in advance of the event. During Career Compass, Patrol Guiders are responsible for overall supervision and support. Girls and youth will attend sessions based on their interests and may not always be with their patrol throughout the weekend.

How much is registration?

  1. Full weekend and Guiding Gala, with overnight accommodation
    • $350 plus tax per girl
    • $157.50 plus tax per adult
  2. Full weekend and Guiding Gala, without overnight accommodation
    • $190 plus tax per girl
    • $85.50 plus tax per adult
  3. Saturday only (no Guiding Gala)
    • $80 plus tax per girl
    • $36 plus tax per adult

Subsidies are available in many provinces to help cover additional travel costs. See the registration form for more details.

Bring Career Compass to your unit meeting

Participate with your unit through activities on the program platform. New activities will be added in late fall so you can earn the free year 2 crest for Digital Programming. Watch Guidepost and the program platform for new opportunities for all branch levels to build their career confidence.
